Is Pela legit?

Short answer: yes, Pela is a real store, and our score is 4.2 out of 5. The main caveat: slow overseas shipping.

It sells compostable phone cases through its own website, pelacase.com. Public ratings: Trustpilot (pelacase.com) 4.3 (2,982). Returns: Returns and exchanges through Pela's returns portal under its happiness guarantee.

Our take: a legitimate brand worth considering.

Quality

Pela averages 4.3 across about 3,000 Trustpilot reviews. Reviewers like the sturdy build, designs and compostable materials; some cases looked faded, fit poorly or arrived damaged.

Price and value

Cases cost $65 to $75, more than basic plastic cases. A free tote comes with purchases of $125 or more.

Shipping and returns

US shipping is free. Returns and exchanges go through Pela's returns portal under its happiness guarantee. Reviewers report slow shipping and, outside the US, customs charges.

Customer service

Reviewers often describe support as fast and friendly with replacements; some say emails went unanswered.
